Tooth Extractions
Our dentists at ONE Dental always prioritize the health and preservation of our patients’ natural teeth. Sometimes, however, whether due to injury, age, disease, or other types of problems, there might not be anything we can do to save a natural tooth. In these cases, tooth extraction is necessary to prevent further problems that could harm the neighboring teeth.
What Is a Tooth Extraction?
A tooth extraction is a simple dental procedure to remove a compromised tooth.
When Does a Tooth Need To Be Removed?
Not every damaged, infected, or injured tooth needs to be removed. In many cases, we can save the tooth using a variety of restorative dental treatments. In the following situations, however, tooth extraction is typically necessary:
- Irreparable damage
- Untreatable infection inside the tooth and/or gums
- Excessive decay
- Overcrowding
- Impacted teeth
- Wisdom teeth removal
We do everything we can to help our patients protect, preserve, and save their natural teeth, and we only recommend tooth extraction as a last resort.
