At ONE Dental, we provide our patients with well-rounded, comprehensive dental care by providing a variety of periodontal treatments in addition to our preventive, restorative, and cosmetic dentistry services.
What Is Periodontics?
Periodontics (also called periodontology) is the branch of dental medicine that focuses specifically on the teeth’s periodontium (their supporting structures) in addition to the conditions and diseases that can affect them. This includes the treatment of periodontal disease, the gingiva, the cementum, the periodontal ligaments, and the alveolar bone.

Periodontal Disease Treatment
Our dentists specialize in treating periodontal disease (a bacterial infection of the gums). We approach the treatment of periodontal disease by addressing each case individually, recommending the appropriate treatments and therapies based on the patient’s medical history and how advanced the case is.
In addition to providing recommendations and prescriptions for managing periodontal disease at home, we also provide:
- Scaling and Root Planing – Scaling and root planing are two treatments designed to work together to help combat the bacterial infection associated with periodontal disease. Scaling removes plaque and tartar buildup from the surfaces of the teeth, while root planing helps remove bacteria and smooth the surfaces of the roots, making it more difficult for bacteria to grow below the gum line.
- LANAP Gum Therapy – This laser-assisted surgical procedure combats periodontal disease by removing dead and diseased gum tissues, sterilizing the treatment area.
Our dentists are highly experienced in regenerative surgical procedures, including bone grafting, gum grafting, and ridge augmentation.
Bone grafting procedures are intended to buildup the jawbone’s mass after deterioration that can occur as a result of missing teeth or periodontal disease, while gum grafting procedures restore gum tissues that have severely receded.
Ridge augmentation restores and recontours the jawbone after the loss or extraction of teeth.
We are also pleased to provide our patients with dental implants, working with you throughout the entire implant placement process, from consultation to surgical implantation and the final placement of your new permanent crown.
